The First Wonder Woman Trailer Is Here!

Still from the Wonder Woman TrailerWarner Bros.

Alert! Alert! The first trailer for Wonder Woman just debuted at Comic-Con, and it looks SO GOOD.

It's about time: Ever since fans got a sneak peek of Gal Gadot as Diana Prince in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice this past March, they've been highly anticipating a first look at her standalone film. Wonder Woman's reveal was widely considered one of the best parts of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so it's a relief that—based on this trailer, at least—the movie looks like it will do the character justice.

But it's not so surprising that the Wonder Woman trailer is awesome and feminist and exciting—the movie does, after all, have a female director (Patty Jenkins) at the helm. And Gadot totally nails the role: The actress fully understands where Wonder Woman's real strengths are. "She has so many strengths and powers, but at the end of the day she's a woman with a lot of emotional intelligence," she explained in her Glamour cover interview. "She's loving." Showing just how independent Prince is was a priority for Gadot in both Batman v Superman and Wonder Woman. "She is not relying on a man, and she's not there because of a love story," she explained. "She's not there to serve someone else."

We like that! Now, watch the full Wonder Woman trailer below:

And don't forget to mark your calendar: The movie is set to be released June 2, 2017.

PS: The original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, tells us why you won't see her in the new movie.
