Imagine your idol—say, Dolly Parton—is watching you cover one of their greatest hits, and they can’t stop smiling because they love your performance that much. Who wouldn’t freak out?

For the latest installment of Glamour’s You Sang My Song video series, that’s exactly what Dolly Parton fans and fellow musicians got. With her signature red nails and matching lip, the country music legend tuned in to watch as some of her long-time admirers performed their original takes on classics like “9 to 5” and “I Will Always Love You.”

Ever gracious, Parton had many praises to sing for the artists and shared her genuine enthusiasm for their work. “Steve, you’re singing one of my favorite songs that I’ve ever written, and you’re singing it as good as anybody I’ve heard singing it,” she commented after watching The Voice season 17 contestant Steve Knill’s hauntingly beautiful take on “I Will Always Love You.”

“You got a great style, I love that!”

It’s been a busy month for the icon, who just released a holiday-themed baking collection with Williams-Sonoma and a new album. Dolly Parton’s A Holly Dolly Christmas featuring collaborations with Miley Cyrus, Michael Buble, Jimmy Fallon, and more is available now and already the number-one holiday album and country album on Billboard.

And because we can never have enough Dolly, the singer announced that she’ll also be starring in the upcoming musical Christmas on the Square, which premieres on Netflix next month and features original music written by none other than the queen of country herself.
