As it did with Bill Nye and The Magic Schoolbus, Netflix is taking a classic educational 1990s series and rebooting it for the streaming age. Your first clue? The theme song was by Rockapella. Yep, it's Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? But this time it's an animated series, and Jane the Virgin star Gina Rodriguez will voice the title character.

First introduced via a computer game in the 1980s that aimed to teach kids geography, Carmen Sandiego—if for some reason you don't remember—is a stylish and mysterious globe-trotting thief perpetually on the run from detectives for stealing treasures from around the world. The franchise eventually expanded to books and the aforementioned educational game show that ran from 1991 to 1995.

According to reports, Netflix has ordered 20 episodes of the show.

Rodriguez is also voicing “Mary” for Sony Pictures Animation’s The Star (November 10) and “Una” in Fox/Blue Sky’s Ferdinand (December 15). Previous voice actors for Carmen Sandiego have included the legendary Rita Moreno, who's also on Netflix right now in One Day at a Time.

BRB, listening to this for the rest of the day.
