If you're into the organic beauty scene, you've probably heard of Kjær Weis. Founded seven years ago, the eco-luxe brand was one of the first to marry natural makeup with gorgeous packaging, its harsh chemical-free formulas arriving in heavy metal compacts and red leather boxes (it's an experience). Said compacts are branded with founder Kirsten Kjær Weis's "KW" initials, and as TMZ reported last night, the brand is now suing Kim Kardashian West for allegedly infringing on its logo look.

Per the outlet, Weis's filing states that the KKW logo is confusing customers, and was a "knowing, willing, and deliberate" choice made by Kardashian. The brand allegedly asked the court to block Kardashian from using the logo, and seeks payment for profits and additional damages.

Glamour reached out to both sides, and received this back from Kjær Weis's spokesperson: "[The lawsuit] is about protecting our reputation and our business. We have worked hard over many years to establish our brand identity and our unique market position.”

On their end, Kardashian's personal publicist said, "There is no merit to this lawsuit. Before launching, Kim received approval for KKW, KKW BEAUTY, and KKW FRAGRANCE from the U.S. Trademark Office. When Ms. Weiss [sic] asked for a re-examination, the Trademark Office again approved the brand names for Kim's company a second time. Kim has done everything by the book.”

The Kar-Jenner clan has dealt with its share of controversy, so likely however things proceed, there will be lawyers around aplenty.

Also: KKW Fragrance, you say? Potentially a hot tip we weren't expecting of things to come. Maybe the line's third product, if makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic's mysterious Instagrams are to be believed.
