FuckJerry and BeigeCardigan: Get to Know Instagram's Most Stylish Power Couple

From Amal and George to Beyonce and Jay Z, it seems like power couples always have our attention these days. And while dynamic duos command all sorts of fields,—whether the screen, stage, and even in politics—you don't hear much about them in newer industries like, say, social media. Until you meet Elliot and Jessica Tebele. The 24- and 25-year-old New York City newlyweds are pretty new to the power-couple train, and they're flat-out killing it on Instagram. In bed with Elliot and Jessica Tebele, in their Manhattan apartment. While you might not have heard of the Tebeles by their actual names, chances are that you already follow one or even both of them under the monikers FuckJerry and BeigeCardigan. Together they count more than 8 million followers, not including the many sister accounts Elliot has started, such as KanyeDoingThings (724,000 followers) and TheLightweights (198,000 followers). Yep, they're the hilarious meme-makers that you've tagged your friends on countless times and they're arguably, the counterculture touchstone on one of the world's fastest growing social platforms—proving daily that for every polished celeb selfie, there's a pizza meme equally worth our "likes." And you're not the only ones into the Tebeles' meme-filled world. Fashion

While you might not have heard of the Tebeles by their actual names, chances are that you already follow one or even both of them under the monikers FuckJerry and BeigeCardigan. Yep, they're the hilarious meme-makers that you've tagged your friends on countless times and they're arguably, the counterculture touchstone on one of the world's fastest growing social platforms—proving daily that for every polished celeb selfie, there's a pizza meme equally worth our "likes."

And you're not the only ones into the Tebeles' meme-filled world. Fashion and Hollywood heavyweights are obsessed.

Cara Delevingne, Katy Perry, Adriana Lima, and almost all the Kardashian and Jenner sisters are followers. Kendall and Khloe regularly tag each other on FuckJerry posts (not to mention, FuckJerry is one of the prized 96 accounts followed by Kim Kardashian West herself). Joe Jonas and Justin Bieber are fans, and after pop stars independently reached out through the platform, and both are also now friends to the Tebeles. No, seriously: Before they met, Justin Bieber FaceTimed Elliot to tell him what a fan he is.

Elliot and Jessica manage their accounts independently, but there's definitely a shared sense of humor between them. Elliot, who founded FuckJerry five years ago on Tumblr and later expanded into additional platforms, says his brand is infused with his own Seinfeld-esque humor (which explains the name). "I was just watching Seinfeld, trying think of a name for a Tumblr and somehow I came up with it," he says.

Jessica, on the other hand is, first and foremost, a successful personal stylist. She started BeigeCardigan a year ago on a lark—a.k.a. a dose of healthy competition. "Elliot was doing FuckJerry full time and I said 'I can do that.' So he said, 'OK, try.' So I did." Jessica calls the one-year-old BeigeCardigan "the FuckJerry for girls." "It's really more of a woman's sense of humor," she says. "It's actually more badass than FuckJerry." The name is a play on "basic bitches," says Jessica. "It's basically the opposite of me—we just thought it was funny when we came across it on Urban Dictionary."

What both have in common outside of Instagram, is a true love of fashion. The couple, who got married in August, recently moved into a new apartment in the West Village and let Glamour peek inside their impressive closets.

"I've always had had a passion for fashion," Elliot says, showing off his obscure vintage-T's and blazers from Dries van Noten and Marni. "It started my first year of high school. I went to a prep school and it was a big culture shock. So I started off with sneakers and then it evolved into vintage T-shirts and watches. I could go on eBay for days."

"He's really into his style," says Jessica, whose edgy-but-subtle look gets her plenty of double-takes herself. "I like simple things that have drama to them. If I'm wearing a black shirt, it's not boring, it sweeps to the floor."

We asked the couple to take their style to the streets, modeling some of their favorite items from their closets in an impromptu photo shoot in their neighborhood. They were 100 percent game—we love that about them, don't you?—and answered some questions about their careers and their relationship while the cameras were snapping.

How did you two meet? "We met through friends that shared an apartment. I always thought he was cool and interesting and I wanted to get to know him," says Jessica. Their look: Here, Jessica is in her own jumpsuit and pumps. Elliot wears his own Marni jacket and Saint Laurent boots.

The Justin Bieber connection—explain. "I used to be a personal shopper at Topshop, after working for Roxanne Assoulin," says Jessica. "That was when I learned how to dress people. I worked with models and celebrities, like Alexa Chung, Erin Wasson, and Justin Bieber...I don't think he realizes I'm the same person now." Their look: Jessica has on a 3.1 Phillip Lim skirt, her own vintage Isaac Mizrahi anorak, and Marni oxfords. Elliot wears his own Dries van Noten blazer, jeans, and Saint Laurent boots.

Does it feel weird when you get recognized in public? "I never expected it to [so big] be when I started," says Elliot. "It started off as a hobby. I'm still shocked when I get recognized on the street. People say, 'Hey, it's FuckJerry!'" Jessica just got recognized this summer at a music festival. "It was a very funny to get recognized. A big moment," she says. Their look: Jessica wears a 3.1 Phillip Lim coat, her own vintage Giorgio Armani vest, trousers, and shoes. Elliot in his own jacket and jeans.
