On Wednesday, July 26, President Donald Trump announced on Twitter that transgender men and women would no longer be able to serve in the military. And Blake Lively, like many in the nation, is upset and can hardly believe it.

In an impassioned Instagram post, Lively expanded on her thoughts as to why Trump's decision is the antithesis of our country's values. "THIS is America. WE the people. ALL THE PEOPLE. Today I stand with our fellow citizens. No human being is a burden," she said in her caption, which accompanied a photo of servicemen and servicewomen marching in a parade. "I believe in equality. In freedom. In opportunity. In kindness, acceptance, and fairness. I believe in this country, so I, and many others, sign the petition linked in the bio. Please join. 💙💗🇺🇸💗💙."

Not willing to stop there, Elle discovered that Lively even responded to a conservative commenter who said, "You catching that unfollow," for her message. "I choose love. That's the only thing that we all have," she wrote. "It is peace. It is happiness. Not follows or unfollows. I wish happiness for you. And I hope you find that your heart has a bigger capacity than you give it credit for. I know it does." Simply put: Feel free to unfollow her if you don't agree with her message. She couldn't care less.

Lively has now joined a slew of celebrities on social media who have voiced concern and disdain over Trump's military transgender ban. "We should be grateful to the people who wish to serve, not turn our backs on them. Banning transgender people is hurtful, baseless and wrong," Ellen DeGeneres wrote. "Hey trans teens: this man does not represent the overwhelming love, support and pride waiting for you when you step out into the world," Lena Dunham added. But perhaps Ike Barinholtz put it best: "Every single trans person is braver than Donald Trump."
