Even though she lives across the pond, J.K. Rowling is full of biting commentary about American politics. From calling out Trump for acting like "words don't matter" to pointing out the misogyny of Trump's supporters, her tweets are always spot-on. On Thursday, July 27, she hit the nail on the head once again with a takedown of conservative commentator Tomi Lahren.

On Wednesday, Lahren tweeted in response to Trump's ban on transgender people in the military: "The military is not a social experiment. Finally a POTUS who understands the concept. Political correctness=intellectual dishonesty!" She added, "Pres Trump dedicated to putting radical Muslims in graves whereas Pres Obama was dedicated to putting men in the ladies room."

These tweets are full of offensive misconceptions. First of all, trans women aren't "men," and there has never been a report of a trans person attacking someone in a bathroom. Secondly, Lahren's claims totally mischaracterize what Trump and Obama have accomplished. In fact, if we want to talk about actual men in women's spaces, Trump once bragged about sneaking backstage to watch beauty pageant contestants undress. And let's not forget that Obama was behind the CIA operation to kill Osama Bin Laden, while Trump is behind a travel ban that keeps innocent people from entering the United States from Muslim countries.

"Truly, whom amongst us can forget Trump ordering the killing of bin Laden? Or Obama bragging about barging in on naked beauty contestants?" Rowling wrote sarcastically.

She then expertly shot back at a troll who told her to stay out of politics. For our sake and the whole Internet's, we hope she doesn't.
