Blake Lively has signed on to star in a new murder mystery movie called The Husband's Secret, and OMFG. It's based on a novel by Liane Moriarty, the author of Big Little Lies, which was adapted into this year's biggest miniseries obsession on HBO. So, yeah, OMFG. We are here for this.

CBS Films reportedly bought the film rights to the novel in 2013, but the success of Big Little Lies has reignited interest in Moriarty properties—and now with Lively signed on to star, it's being fast-tracked. The studio is currently looking for a director. (Good thing we have 90 to recommend...)

This is the plot synopsis, per a press release from the studio:

"Lively will play Cecilia Fitzpatrick, a chronic perfectionist whose suburban bubble is burst when she finds a note from her husband addressed to her with instructions to open it in the event of his death. But he's still alive. She then discovers a secret that her husband has been keeping from her for years, which leads her to realize that her life is built on a foundation of lies and murder."

Lies! And! Murder!

After the massive success of Gone Girl and then Girl on the Train (and, hey, the remake of Murder on the Orient Express is coming out soon), it looks like twisty murder mysteries is definitely the trend right now.

And if you're itching for even more Moriarty adaptations, never fear: Big Little Lies stars Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon have optioned Truly, Madly, Guilty.

Lively is best known for her work as part of an ensemble, from Gossip Girl and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants to Savages and Café Society, but she has also proved she can hold her own as the lead of a film, like when she starred in The Shallows basically all by herself (plus one very charismatic seagull). And am I the only one who saw and loved The Age of Adaline? Guys, go watch The Age of Adaline. It's a good time.
