Remember when pumpkin spice highlighter blew up your newsfeed not too long ago? You didn't really think it was going away anytime soon did you?

But just in case you're still new to all that is pumpkin spice and shimmery, here's a quick recap: The $5 highlighter (courtesy of one of Etsy's many brilliant stores, FeatherRiverBody, which is known for its gorgeous mineral makeup) blew up the Internet. And often as these things go, it left us wondering how exactly the shade would look on. If pumpkin spice hair can be a thing, why can't pumpkin spice highlighter be a thing, too?

Which brings us here: We tapped 6 Glamour editors with different skin tones and hair colors to put it to the test. Would it look good? Or like pumpkin and Tinkerbell had a baby all over our faces? Scroll down to find out.

On Erin / Porcelain skin and red hair

Emily Kemp

Her initial thoughts: "I have to admit, I’m not so into the whole PSL trend but I do love everything else pumpkin flavored and scented. And I was excited to try this because it kind of matches my hair."

Did she like it: "I really liked it! It’s different from the other highlighters I've tried. Because it’s so warm (and I'm so pale), it wasn't quite right for me as a normal highlighter, but we brought it down to the apples of my cheeks and that’s where it worked its magic. Now I need this as my go-to fall blush color. I loved the way it warmed up my whole face without looking like I was red. I’m not a bronzer girl, so this gave me the perfect cross-over of blush, bronzer, and highlighter."

Would she wear it again: "For sure. I would love to try it all over my eyes as a shimmery shadow, or with a cat eye and some mascara. It'd be a really chic fall look. I’d also love to use it on my cheeks again for that fall flush. I’m thinking it would be great for an apple picking Instagram, to be honest."

On Jen / Fair skin and bronde hair

Emily Kemp

Her initial thoughts: "I didn’t even know pumpkin spice highlighter was a thing before this! Knew it was a latte, did not know it was a beauty product. I was curious to see how it would turn out."

Did she like it: "It was super pretty! I loved the subtle glow it gave me, which felt like more like a fall glow than a summer glow due to the warm, cider-y tone. And it didn’t overwhelm my fair skin. It added just the right amount of shine and color."

Would she wear it again:"I would definitely wear this again, maybe even in place of my bronzer since it was only a touch darker than my skin tone."

On Kate / Light skin and dirty blond hair

Emily Kemp

Her initial thoughts: "I was worried it would be more of a bronzer on my skin tone, but was excited about the concept."

Did she like it: "I thought it was really pretty! Not subtle, but I loved the glow it gave me—especially when photographed. It was definitely more of a bronzer on me than a highlighter, though."

Would she wear it again: "Hmm...It was a lot for me since I don’t normally pack on the bronzer/highlighter. I think it’s maybe more of an Instagram makeup look for beauty bloggers who know how to apply it. It's too much for me for real life!"

On Julie / Light skin and brown hair

Emily Kemp

Her initial thoughts: "I knew this would be magic. And it was."

Did she like it: "More like LOVE. I already enjoy the way warm-toned makeup flatters my skin tone, and this was no exception. I overdose on bronzers and highlighters on the daily, so this was pretty normal for me."

Would she wear it again: "Absolutely. Yeah, it's a little orange-y, but it still works. I even added it on my lips and eyes to match."

On Aminata / Medium skin and highlighted hair

Emily Kemp

Her initial thoughts: "When I first heard about it, I was definitely skeptical. For starters, I’ve never even had a pumpkin spice latte! That aside, my first thought was that the highlighter would be really pigmented and bright orange, which probably, definitely, wouldn’t be a good look on anyone."

Did she like it: "It turned out better than I expected!"

Would she wear it again: "Probably not during the daytime as I typically don’t use highlighter as part of my regular routine, but it might be a cool twist for a going-out look."

On Christina / Medium skin and black hair

Emily Kemp

Her initial thoughts: "They had me at Pumpkin, and I’ll try anything pumpkin. PSH sounded fun, seasonal, and delicious."

Did she like it: "I LOVED it. It made me feel pretty. And besides the fact that it made me glow and really made my features more pronounced, I loved that you could layer it and make it more dramatic or keep it simple."

Would she wear it again: "I would definitely wear it again. I normally only wear highlighter on the weekends at brunch and out at night, but I found that when we layered a small amount, it really made a subtle difference. I'd definitely consider this for daytime, too."
