"It will also give readers an idea of what it’s really like to run for president, especially if you’re a woman," she said. "Ultimately it’s about resilience, how to get back up after a loss." The book is due out in September and will be published by Simon & Schuster.

“She speaks about the challenges of being a strong woman in the public eye, the criticism over her voice, age, and appearance, and the double standard confronting women in politics,” the publisher told the Guardian. "The election of 2016 was unprecedented and historic. What Happened is the story of that campaign and its aftermath—both a deeply intimate account and a cautionary tale for the nation."

Even a year after Clinton made history as the first woman nominated to be president by a major party, political junkies are still arguing over what the campaign could have done differently, what went wrong, and how the Democratic party can bounce back in the 2018 midterms elections.

Yes, it's still painful to think about November 8, but if Clinton can take a long look at what went down, so can we—maybe we can all learn something.
