Julia Roberts Debuts FullOn Bangs During Paris Couture Week

Julia Roberts has us in the mood for a prespring hair spruce-up after stepping out Monday, January 29, at Jacquemus’s Les Sculptures fashion show in Paris sporting fuller bangs than usual—and it looks fresh and modern.

Despite the rest of her auburn hair being styled in chic tousled waves, the British Vogue February cover star demonstrated the power that even the merest tease of a tweak can have on a look. Although it was only a subtle switch-up from the piecey bangs Roberts has been showcasing recently, the effect of the extra fullness across her forehead was notable, framing her eyes and cheekbones to perfection and, of course, accentuating that megawatt smile.

Roberts isn’t the only celebrity to debut new bangs in Paris: Last week at the Schiaparelli spring-summer 2024 show, Zendaya showcased immaculately straight micro bangs that were cropped a good few of centimeters above her eyebrows. And to make the style look even more other-worldly, her hair stylist tucked two long face-framing strands in front of her ears to recreate the stepped and disconnected look of the jellyfish cut.

Although updating your bangs as Julia Roberts did is perhaps a less committed way to ease into bangs, it’s not the only course of action if you’re looking for a hair change this season. Other options, such as asking your stylist to add face-framing layers to the front of your hair—also known as the butterfly cut—or switching up your middle part for a deep side part, are all low-effort ways to make a Hollywood star-style impact.
